Assemblies
Watermelon eating contest,
senior skits, pie eating contest, tug-a-war, tricycle races, spirit horn, & many more activities take place during
our school assemblies.Through-out the school year members of our student council promote, plan, and implement ideas to encourage
school spirit.
Blood Drive
Blood Drives are held twice a year at the school. We raise
close to 200 pints of blood every time we hold one of our events. You must be 17 years or older to register. 16 year olds may donate with parent permission. Save a life. Next Horlick Blood Drive is Friday, April 16, 2010. Sign-up
in room 130 with Mrs. Laske. Adults may donate by calling the school and making an appointment.
Homecoming!!
Spirit Week
Pajama
Day! Geek Day! Crazy Day! Super Hero Day! Hawaiian Day, and many more outrageous days students dress up as during this week
of fun and excitement.
Bonfire
Quarry Lake Park is where all the festivities take place. Beach Volleyball, Tug
A War between grade levels, Senior Girls Powder Puff football, Water balloon Slingshot contest, Limbo, Twister, and dancing around the bonfire to the hippest DJ in town!!!
The Game
The
game is fun, entertaining, and filled with excitement. Who cares if you win or lose, as long as you can hang out with
your friends and go to the hot spot afterwards to get a bite to eat. Does someone remember Big Boys?
Homecoming
Dance
Proper attire required. Going out and buying the perfect outfit that
everyone else will die for. Finding the right date to make your friends jeolous. And Making sure that you get pictures for
a night memorable. How was your Homecoming?

Variety Show
Have
you ever had to go up on stage in front of hundreds of people and speak? Forget about that. How about going on
stage and singing, dancing, and performing in hopes of winning the Variety Show Contest in the fall?
Horlick Holiday Fair
Mr. Moreno is the
advisor. At this time next years' date has not been set. Traditionally it is the week before
Thanksgiving.

Grade Shadow Day
Do you remember the first couple of days of high school? Oh my
gosh!! Everyone was so big! Did someone try to sell you an elevator pass or state that you couldn't walk on the
school symbol by the front entrance? Now who would do something like that? Didn't you hate being a freshman?
Shadow Day helps students get a taste of what to expect the following year. Yeah right?

Bachelor Auction
Staff members taking on the seniors in an action packed basketball
game. Who's going to win? The staff members of course! Immediately following the game will be the 'Bachelor
Auction. Who will give me $5 to go on a date with one of more popular students of the school? How about 10?
How high can a person go for? We will see. Stop by and check it out.

Black History Month Celebration
Videos, speeches, poetry, and song all performed
by our students. The Black History Month Celebration will be on Wednesday, February 24th, during 5th period in the school

3pm in the school.
Knowledge-a-Thon
In late April members of our council take the day off and
go to Roosevelt Elementary School to administer test to the students. This day is filled with joy and laughter.
Not by our students but by the elementary kids chasing our high schoolers around the playground during the breaks!
Channel 10 Auction
5 to 6 students get the opportunity to go on TV and show
their skills by being the next Vanna White! Community service is a big part of our program. This year the Student
Government class will be going on April 27th and 29th. Be sure to watch us on T.V.!
Mrs. Apmann will be joining
us this year!

Do you remember the night? The perfect dress. The great looking tux. Dinner,
pictures and the must have car to get to the dance. Didn't you parents make a big fuss? Oh, what the memories? Coming

together in the fall to tear down, yes, tear down the walls of a home for this program.
